Behind the Kitchen Door — a data-driven neighborhood snapshot from InspectFL
A September 25, 2026 snapshot of 3,326 tracked Pinellas County restaurants showing which qualifying ZIP codes had the highest A-grade share, the lowest A-grade share, and the strongest concentration of F grades in InspectFL’s independent scoring system.
Pinellas County’s restaurant scene isn’t one uniform market — it’s a string of distinct downtowns and beach strips packed onto a narrow peninsula, and the grade mix can shift significantly from one part of Pinellas County to another. InspectFL tracked 3,326 restaurants in the September 25 snapshot across Pinellas, spread over 146 zip codes. A general overview of the county’s recent inspection activity already lives on this site. This post skips the county-wide recap and zooms into the zip-code level: which specific zip codes are currently posting the highest A-grade share, which are posting the lowest, and how wide that gap actually is.

How the ZIP analysis works
Every figure below comes from InspectFL’s own zip-code rollup of current restaurant grades across Pinellas County. To keep the ranking meaningful, only zip codes with at least 30 currently-graded restaurants are included — Pinellas has 146 zip codes total, but most cover a handful of addresses where one or two closures can swing a percentage wildly. The 10 zip codes below all have a real sample size behind them.

What this data does — and does not — tell you
A zip code isn’t a restaurant. 33712 having a 68.3% A-grade share doesn’t mean every restaurant there is spotless, and 34683’s 23.8% F-grade share doesn’t mean every restaurant there is a risk — it means that across dozens of separate businesses, one area is currently trending toward a higher A-grade share than another. Individual restaurants move in and out of these buckets constantly as new inspections land. The value here is pattern-level: if you’re weighing two similar options in different parts of the county, the zip-level base rate is one more data point, not the deciding one.
Bottom line
Look up any specific restaurant before you decide where to eat — that’s true everywhere in Pinellas, highest A-grade share or toughest grade mix. But the zip-level split is real: at the September 25 snapshot, 68.3% of graded restaurants in ZIP 33712 held an InspectFL A grade, compared with 21.4% in ZIP 34683 — more than three times the share.
